Fragments from the letter of intent included in my university application

No one would ever believe that I mounted a musical show for my relatives at home the day of my birthday when I was turning 5.  Kindergarten friends did not escape from my art, either. I had watched my Marcel Marceau video so many times that I was able to perform his whole act in front of them. A few years later, I would be entertaining my class with a full-featured magic act on the last day of school. I took up a sport mainly practiced in Europe: figure roller-skating, consisting of jumps and spins like ice-skating, but done on wheels. Sometimes as a competition, others as mere leisure for both my spectators and me, I have always needed to communicate.
